At the southern tip of the Presqu'île, the Musée des Confluences unfolds its glass and metal volumes in the light of a sunset. Its irregular facets capture the golden tones of the sky, giving the building a changing silhouette on the banks of the Rhône. The museum is located at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Designed by the agency Coop Himmelb(l)au, the building does not have a single main façade: its architecture is discovered through a succession of planes, transparent surfaces, and metallic volumes. The photograph highlights this geometry without detaching the building from its environment. The water, quays, and sky extend the lines of the museum, while the warm light softens the monumental and technical character of the whole.
