Custom-made Alps photo print

Adapt a mountain photograph to your wall with a custom size, a framing prepared especially for your project, and a simulation in your interior before manufacturing.

Photographs by Pierre Thiaville, as well as certain works by other photographers when the necessary file and rights are available, can be adapted up to 200 cm on the long side and 110 cm on the other side. It is not necessary to exactly maintain the ratio proposed on the product page: the framing can be re-worked without stretching or distorting the image. Each request is verified before the quote is established.

A print designed for your wall's proportions

The formats offered in the catalog cover the most common uses, but they do not always correspond to the dimensions of a large wall, the width of a sofa, or the particular shape of a room. Custom sizing allows starting with an eligible photograph and studying a proportion more consistent with your interior.

Custom dimensions

Width and height are defined according to the wall, furniture, available viewing distance, and selected photograph.

Framing outside catalog ratio

The framing can be adapted to a more panoramic, more vertical, or simply different proportion than standard formats.

In-room simulation

A scaled visualization helps to better appreciate the print's footprint and its balance with the furniture.

What are the maximum dimensions?

A personalized project can reach 200 cm on the long side and 110 cm on the other side. This range allows for large horizontal formats, panoramas, or certain vertical formats suitable for a narrow wall.

The final dimension is determined on a case-by-case basis. It depends on the available space, but also on the file resolution and the photograph's composition. An image whose main subject is very close to an edge cannot always be transformed into an extreme panorama without losing an important element.

The principle remains simple: the ratio visible on the product page is not an absolute constraint, but the image is never stretched to force a format.

Availability depending on the chosen artwork

For a photograph by Pierre Thiaville, feasibility primarily depends on the available definition and the intended framing. For a work by another photographer, AluArtMountains also checks the availability of the high-definition file and the necessary rights for manufacturing outside the formats offered in the catalog.

The custom format is only confirmed and priced after these checks. If the chosen artwork cannot be produced under the requested conditions, another dimension or an alternative photograph is offered.

How to get a custom simulation?

1. Choose a photograph

Send the link to the print you are interested in or the exact name of the photograph. You can also send two or three options if you are hesitant between several landscapes, atmospheres, or mountain ranges. Pierre Thiaville's photographs can be studied directly according to their definition. For a work by another photographer, the availability of the file and the necessary rights are verified before any final proposal.

2. Photograph your wall

Take a photo as straight as possible, including the wall, the furniture below it, and part of the room. A single clear view is usually sufficient. Additional views may be requested if the space is complex or if several locations are being considered.

3. Provide a reliable reference measurement

Indicate a real dimension visible in the photo: width of the sofa, bed, sideboard, desk, or a measurement taken directly from the wall. This reference allows the print to be scaled correctly in the simulation.

4. Specify your preferences

You can indicate your desired width or height, the intended location, your viewing distance, and the desired effect: discreet, balanced, panoramic, or intentionally spectacular.

5. Receive a proposal

AluArtMountains studies the photograph, the framing, and the possible dimensions. For a work by another photographer, this step also includes verifying the file and the necessary reproduction rights. The proposal may then include a format recommendation, an in-room simulation, and a corresponding quote for the project.

6. Validate before manufacturing

The format, framing, and price are confirmed before manufacturing begins. The print is then printed on matte Dibond aluminium and made to order.

What to send

  • the link or name of the contemplated photograph;
  • a photo of the wall taken as straight as possible;
  • a reference measurement, for example, the width of the sofa or furniture;
  • the maximum available dimensions on the wall;
  • your format preferences and desired atmosphere.

Custom cropping, without distortion

Adapting the ratio of a photograph does not mean stretching it. The work consists of finding a new cropping within the original image, preserving important reliefs, the balance of the landscape, and sufficient definition for the final format.

Before confirming the project, several points are checked:

  • the resolution available for the desired dimension;
  • the position of peaks, lakes, glaciers, or other main elements;
  • the balance between sky, relief, and foreground;
  • the compatibility of the framing with the wall's orientation;
  • the legibility of the image at the planned viewing distance;
  • the availability of the file and necessary rights when the artwork is by another photographer.

When the requested ratio weakens the photograph or does not allow for sufficiently high-quality printing, another proportion or another artwork is proposed.

For what types of spaces?

Custom sizing is particularly relevant when a standard format seems too small, too tall, or disproportionate to the room's architecture.

  • Large living room wall: panorama above a sofa or main print facing the entrance.
  • Bedroom: horizontal format above a bed or a more vertical composition on a narrow wall.
  • Chalet and mountain residence: dimensions adapted to volumes, wood, and high ceilings.
  • Office or meeting room: large format print or coherent series to structure the space.
  • Hotel, restaurant or reception area: project studied according to the location, number of prints, and desired ambiance.

How much does a custom photo print cost?

The price depends mainly on the final dimensions, the chosen framing, the hanging system, the quantity, the delivery destination, and, for some works by other photographers, the rights required for personalized manufacturing. A quote is provided after a complete feasibility check and before any manufacturing begins.

The initial request allows for project evaluation without commitment. It may also lead to the recommendation of a standard format when it already offers the best balance between rendering, budget, and available space.

Please note: when a print is manufactured according to dimensions or framing specifically defined for the customer, it constitutes a personalized product. The applicable conditions are specified before ordering and in the refund policy.
