This collection focuses on mountaineering that is actually visible in the image: climbing parties on glaciers, silhouettes engaged on a ridge, ascent towards a summit, or ski touring in the high mountains.
From the Mont Blanc massif to the Écrins, the human presence gives scale to the glaciers, slopes, and rock faces. Simple high-altitude landscapes without visible alpine activity have been excluded from this selection.
