Lyon between Fourvière, Vieux-Lyon and Confluence
In Lyon, just a few minutes are enough to experience a complete change of scenery. The light glides over the facades of Vieux-Lyon, Fourvière stands out above the Saône, then the lines become more graphic as you descend towards the Rhône quays and the Confluence district.
In this collection, we have gathered photos of Lyon taken along its streets, bridges, and viewpoints that give the city its character. Saint-Georges at sunset, the rooftops around Saint-Jean, the traboules of Croix-Rousse, the Hôtel-Dieu, and the Musée des Confluences compose a selection of urban landscapes that are both familiar and spectacular.

Photographing Lyon through the light
On the banks of the Saône, the gaze naturally moves from the Saint-Georges church to the Fourvière basilica, before reaching the colorful facades of Vieux-Lyon and the Saint-Jean cathedral. On the banks of the Rhône, the atmosphere changes: the framing opens onto the bridges, the riverbanks, the Hôtel-Dieu, and the contemporary skyline of Part-Dieu.
The collection also explores the staircases and streets of Croix-Rousse, the montée de la Grande Côte, the traboules, the Bartholdi fountain, and the Place des Jacobins. Further south, the Musée des Confluences and the bridges surrounding it offer a more modern and graphic vision of Lyon.
We select photographs capable of conveying an atmosphere as much as a place: the light of a late day on Fourvière, the city's reflections in the Rhône, a discreet passage in Vieux-Lyon, or the lines of a bridge over the river.
