The Pic de Rochebrune is photographed at sunset, when the rock still retains a warm light while the slopes are already in shadow. The framing remains simple and entirely focused on the silhouette of the summit.
The collection also covers several Queyras landscapes found in the works: Lake Souliers, Lake Miroir in Ceillac, Lake Sainte-Anne at the foot of Font Sancte, Col Agnel and Pain de Sucre, Saint-Véran and the Clausis chapel, as well as Col d'Izoard and the Casse Déserte. Larches, high-altitude lakes, villages and mineral reliefs thus show several faces of the massif throughout the seasons.

From Lac Miroir to Col d'Izoard
In Ceillac, Lac Miroir and Lac Sainte-Anne open up the landscape to the Queyras peaks. Higher up, Col Agnel and Pain de Sucre create a more mineral atmosphere, while Saint-Véran and the Clausis chapel bring a more inhabited presence. Col d'Izoard and the Casse Déserte complete the selection with their rocky reliefs and autumn larches.

The interest of the image lies in this very short passage between the color still present on the rock and the darkening of the rest of the massif. The dark slopes frame the summit without distracting the eye.
