Ski touring is first read in the tracks. They cross a slope facing Mont-Blanc, go around the Aiguille Croche or disappear among the trees. The Chard du Beurre and the Pierra Menta then place the skiers in the more open landscapes of the Beaufortain.

Tracks, forests and open slopes
The silhouettes remain small and the snow retains its full place. An isolated track is sometimes enough to indicate the direction and the slope; in the forest, movement is rather guessed between the tree trunks and the passages of light.
