About this image

Ski tourers climb a steep slope on Aiguille Crochue with their skis on their packs, facing the Mont-Blanc massif. Their passage structures the slope and gives scale to the panorama, while glacial summits close the horizon. The skis clearly protrude above the packs and extend the silhouettes up the slope. Around the figures, blown snow takes on a golden tone contrasting with the great glacial walls behind. The steepness of the terrain remains readable between footsteps and successive silhouettes, giving this scene of upward progress on foot, carrying skis, a very different dynamic from a ski descent.

The composition contrasts the movement of the skiers through windblown snow with the more stable mass of the summits. Whites, greys and golden tones in the blown snow reinforce the image’s restraint without erasing variations in snow texture or the depth of the combes.

The Aiguille Crochue lies in the Aiguilles Rouges massif. From this area, the Mont-Blanc massif structures the horizon and gives the landscape great depth, particularly readable when the skiers punctuate the snowy slope.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?

If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
