The road to Col Agnel crosses the high slopes of Queyras, facing Pain de Sucre. In autumn, the mountain pastures take on ochre and brown hues, while the mineral reliefs and first snows bring a colder palette around the pass. Located at 2,744 meters, the pass connects Molines-en-Queyras to the Italian Varaita Valley. This border position opens up a vast landscape over the peaks of Queyras and the Viso massif, with Pain de Sucre as the immediate landmark on the French side. The framing gives ample space to the road, slopes, and sky to convey the scale of the site. The gentle lines of the mountain pastures contrast with the more abrupt silhouette of the summit, while the autumn light reveals the nuances of the terrain.
