Photo print of mountaineers ascending the Dômes de Miage

A rope team of mountaineers advances on the snowy slopes of the Dômes de Miage. The figures linked by the rope punctuate the ascent and give the measure of this vast glacial terrain, where the line of snow naturally leads the eye upwards. The orange rope is clearly visible between the two closest people, both wearing helmets. It curves between their waists and adds a coloured line to the white slope. This detail makes the connection between the members of the rope team tangible, beyond the simple sequence of figures in the vast snow-covered terrain.

Human presence remains small in the face of the mountain. The white of the snow, the bluish shadows, and the dark silhouettes create a stark photograph, focused on the progression, commitment, and solidarity of the rope team rather than on a decorative panorama.

The Dômes de Miage rise in the south-western part of the Mont-Blanc massif, above the Val Montjoie and Les Contamines-Montjoie. Their main peak reaches 3,673 metres and their long succession of ridges forms one of the most recognizable landscapes for mountaineering in Haute-Savoie.

The scene is printed on demand on matte Dibond aluminium as a photo print of mountaineers on the Dômes de Miage, with a precise rendering of the ridge, the silhouettes, and the vastness of the glacial landscape of Val Montjoie.
