About this image
Several rope teams move across the Rouies glacier, their tracks forming fine lines in the snow. The mountaineers remain tiny among the crevasses and glacial slopes, giving a concrete sense of scale to the extent of the landscape. Rock towers rise in the centre above the immense white slope. Farther away, a mountain range emerges above the clouds and opens up a second horizon. The rope teams provide small points of reference between these vast features, allowing the successive distances to be gauged from the nearby snow to the mountains emerging in the background.
The repetition of the figures and tracks brings movement to an otherwise very clean composition. Dominant whites are punctuated by greys and blues, while the lines of the ropes and footprints guide the eye across the relief of the glacier.
The glacier lies in the Écrins massif above the Valgaudemar. This high-altitude area connects plateaus, passes and summits in an environment where roped travel is essential for crossing crevassed zones.

If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
