About this image
A young bearded vulture stands out in flight in the sky above the Vanoise. The immature bird’s dark plumage and the distinctive shape of its wings make its silhouette immediately recognisable.
The more open framing around the bird of prey emphasises movement and a sense of space. The photograph captures the vulture without trying to erase the distance that is part of observing this species in the mountains.
The image was taken in October 2018 in the Vanoise massif and shows a first-year bird. It adds a scene devoted to one of the Alps’ large birds of prey to the AAM wildlife gallery.
This photo print of a young bearded vulture is printed to order on matte aluminium Dibond, with a finish that reduces reflections and preserves the crispness of the bird in flight.
