About this image
From the Col de Rousset, your gaze leaves the high plateaus of the Vercors and plunges towards the hills of the Diois and the Drôme valley. The panorama clearly shows the transition between a mountainous, wooded, and steep relief and more open, southern landscapes, marked by fields, marls, and valleys. A road follows the side of the cliff and crosses the wooded valley in russet tones. Long shadows emphasise the changes in slope before the mountains become bluish in the distance. This gradual passage from nearby vegetation to distant silhouettes gives the panorama its depth, with the road as a landmark on the slope.
The pass is one of the major passages between the Vercors and the Diois. From the cornices above the tunnel, the slopes descend rapidly towards Die and the Drôme reliefs. This change in altitude is accompanied by a visible evolution in vegetation, colors, and the organization of the territory.
This photo print of the Diois from the Col de Rousset is printed on demand on matte Dibond aluminium. The rendering preserves the depth of the valleys and the variations of green, ochre, and blue between Vercors and Drôme.
