About this image
From the heights of the Col de la Forclaz, Lac d’Annecy takes on the colours of the sunset. The light stretches across the water, the shores gradually become darker, and the peaks of Haute-Savoie frame the basin as far as the horizon. The orange sun remains visible on the horizon above the winding lake. Red clouds extend its colour while the mountains turn dark. Along the shores, inhabited areas provide a few reference points in this broad landscape seen from above, where the shape of the water leads to the small bright area closing the perspective.
The photograph relies on the continuity of hues rather than a stark contrast. The oranges and pinks of the sky blend with the blues of the water, while the mountains become soft silhouettes as the light diminishes.
This viewpoint above Talloires-Montmin offers a dominant view of the southern part of the lake. It allows you to follow the shape of the shores, the villages, and the mountain ranges that surround one of the great lake landscapes of the French Alps.
This photo print of Lac d’Annecy at sunset is printed on demand on matte Dibond aluminium. The finish preserves the evening gradients and the depth of the panorama.
