Dans les hauteurs de Zermatt, le train du Gornergrat Bahn avance sur une voie entièrement recouverte de neige. Juste derrière lui, le Cervin surgit au-dessus des nuages, immense et parfaitement reconnaissable dans la lumière froide de l’hiver.

La force de cette photographie tient dans ce face-à-face presque irréel entre la montagne et le train. La rame rouge apporte une touche de couleur au milieu du blanc, tandis que les rails courbes entraînent le regard jusqu’à la silhouette pyramidale du Matterhorn. Tout semble réuni dans la même image : le voyage, la neige et l’un des sommets les plus mythiques des Alpes suisses.

Au départ de Zermatt, ce célèbre train à crémaillère gravit les pentes du Valais jusqu’au Gornergrat, à plus de 3 000 mètres d’altitude. En chemin, la forêt laisse progressivement place aux alpages, puis à un univers minéral dominé par les glaciers et les grands sommets. Ici, le Cervin accompagne le trajet et donne toute sa dimension à ce paysage ferroviaire de haute montagne.

La neige fraîche, les nuages accrochés aux reliefs et la lumière bleutée créent une atmosphère à la fois vive et silencieuse. Une photographie spectaculaire, mais aussi pleine d’évasion, qui évoque immédiatement l’hiver à Zermatt et les grands voyages en train dans les montagnes suisses.
