The Plan du Lac refuge appears in the emerging light amid the snow-covered alpine meadows of the Bellecombe plateau. The building, the snow and the relief of the Vanoise gradually come into view, with golden tones contrasting against the still-cool morning shadows. The stone façade and closed shutters catch the eye before the sunlit summits behind the refuge. On the ground, only a few small tufts break up the dominant snow. Their discretion reinforces the presence of the building, whose darker surfaces give a human scale to the white plateau and the walls gradually revealed by the morning light.
