About this image
The three chalets of the Valette refuge emerge from a completely snow-covered landscape at sunrise. The roofs, slopes and ridges take on warm light, while bluish shadows still emphasize the volumes of the terrain. The pointed roofs stand out against the white slope, with rocky relief in the background. A broad blue shadow crosses the foreground beneath a clear sky; it gives depth to the snow and separates the buildings from the nearest ground. The view keeps open space around the chalets, whose geometry becomes a landmark in the luminous expanse.
The contrast between the chalets and the vast white landscape gives the image its strength. The snow softens secondary details, the lines of the refuge structure the foreground and the morning light brings measured warmth to this highly mineral scene.
The refuge lies at around 2,590 metres above sea level, above Pralognan-la-Vanoise, in the heart of the national park. Its arrangement of small wooden buildings sits directly within an environment of glaciers, mountain passes and high peaks.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
