Photo print of an Alpine marmot at the entrance to its burrow

An Alpine marmot appears at the entrance of its burrow, its body still partially sheltered between the earth and stones. Its attentive posture and outward gaze lend a subtle tension to the scene, like a moment of observation before venturing further. The cavity opens beneath a large block overhanging the upright marmot. A few green plants grow between the stones, adding small touches of colour to the rocky setting. The animal's position in this opening reveals its relationship with the burrow, from its partially sheltered body to its head turned towards the outside.

The close cropping reveals the texture of the fur, the small claws, and the nuances of the coat without completely cutting off the environment. The brown and grey hues create a natural ensemble in which the animal remains visible without appearing detached from its surroundings.

The rocky setting retains the details of the habitat around the marmot. The blocks, dry ground, and low vegetation are typical of the high-altitude habitat where marmots dig their networks of tunnels and regularly survey their surroundings.

This scene becomes an art print of an Alpine marmot at the entrance of its burrow, printed on demand on matte Dibond aluminium. The finish preserves the fine detail of the fur and the textures of the rock.
