About this image
The Milky Way rises almost vertically above Les Bans and Pointe de la Pilatte. Its galactic column fills most of the frame, with a dense band where stars, luminous dust and deep shades of the sky blend together. Cream and pink tones enrich the night blues above the grey ridges.
In the lower part of the image, the alpine relief remains in silhouette around a snow-covered, crevassed high-mountain basin. This mineral base gives scale to the immense sky. The transition from earth to sky is built through tonal values: dark rock, brighter snow, then the luminous density of the starry band. The vertical composition lets the Milky Way dominate without erasing the glacial landscape.
Les Bans and Pointe de la Pilatte belong to the Écrins massif, in a glacial area between the Valgaudemar and the Vénéon valley. Great walls, high-altitude glaciers and valleys far from urban light make up this high-mountain territory. The long exposure reveals a density of stars invisible to the naked eye, linking the reading of the relief to that of the deep sky.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
