About this image

From the Chablais massif, autumn forests and pre-Alpine ridges draw the eye towards Mont Blanc. The foreground is covered in golden, coppery, and brown tones, while the snow-capped peaks appear in a cooler light on the horizon. The Chablais occupies the north of Haute-Savoie between Lake Geneva and the great Alpine massifs. This position allows for observing the Mont Blanc massif from a distance and bringing together, in a single photograph, the wooded reliefs of the Pre-Alps and the high glacial mountains. The succession of ridges creates progressive depth.
