About this image
Above Zermatt, the Cervin holds the light of sunset on its ridges and upper slopes. The rocky pyramid stands out clearly while the lower slopes gradually fall into shadow, giving the summit immediate presence without closing off the landscape. The sun appears very low to the left of the pyramid, surrounded by a halo. In front of the broad snow-covered range, the foreground remains in blue shadow. These three presences — luminous disc, Cervin silhouette and dark snow — organise the sunset: the sun draws attention without erasing the mountain, whose lines remain clearly separated from the neighbouring glow.
The photograph is built on the contrast between the warm tones of the final light and the cooler shades of rock and snow. The sky remains clear enough to isolate the summit lines, while the shadows reveal strata and couloirs without artificially hardening the relief.
The Cervin rises to 4,478 metres in the Alpes valaisannes, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Its Swiss side dominates the Zermatt valley and its profile is one of the most recognisable silhouettes in the entire Alpine arc.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
