About this image
Evening light emphasizes the profile of the Cervin, whose ridges separate the Italian and Swiss faces. Snow clinging to the highest slopes echoes the warm tones of the sky, while the darker gneiss reinforces the summit’s almost perfect geometry. A white ridge lit in yellow crosses the foreground in front of the great pyramid streaked with snow. More distant summits extend its lines beneath a blue sky. This nearby ridge provides an intermediate light between the Cervin’s faces and the edge of the frame; it makes the depth more tangible than a simple isolated silhouette against the sky.
The composition is not reduced to a uniform silhouette. Changes in shadow reveal the faces, couloirs and ridge lines, before the eye reaches more distant relief that places the summit at the heart of the Alps. The palette combines gold, rocky greys and slightly bluish whites.
Rising to 4,478 metres, the Cervin marks the border between Valais and the Aosta Valley. Zermatt extends along its Swiss side, while Breuil-Cervinia occupies the Italian side; two very different valleys brought together around the same mountain.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
