About this image

Mont-Blanc and its aiguilles answer one another in a black-and-white photograph dominated by the contrast between snow and granite. Ridge lines, couloirs and walls follow one another in a broad composition in which every plane contributes to the depth of the massif. A glacier tongue descends between rocky relief beneath the immense white mass in the background. The darker foreground makes its outline and the points of the aiguilles stand out. The photograph thus combines a glacial line leading into depth with a succession of granite verticals, two complementary forms structuring this monochrome panorama.

The monochrome treatment simplifies the palette while retaining a great richness of texture. Snow whites, rock greys and denser shadows reveal the different orientations of the faces and give the image a precise reading without artificial decorative effects.

Above Chamonix, the granite aiguilles form one of the most characteristic landscapes of the Mont-Blanc massif. Their verticality contrasts with the more rounded volumes of the snow-covered summits and the glacial surfaces occupying the hollows of the relief.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?

If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
