Photo print of a stream in the Contamines-Montjoie valley, Haute-Savoie

A mountain stream meanders between rocks, mosses, and vegetation in the valley of Contamines-Montjoie. The clear water forms a line of movement in the heart of a close-up shot, where the wet textures of the stone and the shades of green take precedence over the grand panorama. The current turns white between the boulders and crosses a lush, wooded valley. Beyond it, a rocky summit retains patches of snow beneath a sky dotted with small clouds. This opening links the detail of the flowing water to the terrain above the valley, from the nearby stones to the high slopes still marked by snow.

The photograph offers an intimate reading of the mountain. The soft light preserves the details of the current, the irregularities of the blocks, and the density of the vegetation, while the movement of the water brings freshness and depth to a simple scene.

The valley is located in Val Montjoie, Haute-Savoie, at the foot of the Mont-Blanc massif. The torrents and streams there are fed by snow, high-altitude reliefs, and glaciers, successively crossing forests, meadows, and more mineral areas.

This photo print of a stream in Contamines-Montjoie is made to order on matte Dibond aluminium. The finish renders the nuances of water, moss, and stone without transforming this natural scene into an artificially contrasted landscape.
