About this image

The Nant Borrant refuge appears in the heart of a lush landscape in the Contamines-Montjoie valley. Set near the torrent between forest and alpine meadows, the building forms a warm focal point in a broad view where the relief of Haute-Savoie gradually closes the horizon. Three hikers follow the path on the right of the intensely green meadow. At lower left, small groups of buildings punctuate the pasture in front of conifers and walls still marked by snowfields. This arrangement provides several human reference points in the photograph: walking is visible on one side of the valley and the buildings on the other, within the same pastoral landscape.

The photograph contrasts the familiar presence of the chalet with the scale of the valley. Greens of vegetation and tones of wood create a bright summer scene, while the different planes give depth to the landscape without losing its peaceful atmosphere.

Located at 1,459 metres above sea level, Nant Borrant is around forty-five minutes from Notre-Dame de la Gorge. The refuge lies on the Tour du Mont-Blanc and GR5 routes, in an area leading toward the Contamines-Montjoie nature reserve.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?

If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
