About this image

Above a lake in the Dolomites, the Milky Way forms a broad luminous trail across a deeply coloured sky. Rocky ridges outline the water and their silhouettes continue in a calm reflection, creating natural symmetry without being perfectly regular. The diagonal band of the Milky Way finds a second path in the mirror of the lake. Forests and lower mountains frame this reflection while leaving a wide opening to the sky. From one half of the image to the other, the same light changes material: dense among the stars, it becomes softer on the calm water.

The photograph combines the verticality of the sky with the horizontality of the water. Blue and violet shades of night mingle with the greys of the mountains, while the long exposure makes the details of the galaxy and subtler reflections on the lake surface visible.

The lake is not identified more precisely in the available data. The scene nevertheless belongs to the Italian Dolomites, an Alpine group known for pale walls, aiguilles and small high-altitude lakes set between forests, meadows and mineral relief.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?

If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
