About this image
In Argentière, the Arve river meanders between snow-covered banks, frosted trees, and the village chalets. The dark water forms a vanishing line in the center of the image, leading the eye towards the high Chamonix valley mountains. The contrast between the moving river and the still landscape gives full power to this winter scene. A large chalet occupies the right-hand side above the white banks. Behind it, the wooded valley remains framed by snowy mountains. Robert Harding Video’s photograph thus retains a close connection with the water and the architecture: the torrent traces the darkest route between the banks of snow, then the eye follows the valley towards the mountains closing it off.
Argentière is located at the foot of Les Grands Montets, in the upper part of the Arve valley. The village is surrounded by wooded slopes and the large peaks of the Mont-Blanc massif. Here, the presence of houses and the village sign clearly anchors the photograph in a lived territory, close to the river and the mountain.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
