About this image

The Grande Cascade descends along the limestone cliffs of the Cirque de Saint-Même, amidst dense vegetation. The vertical framing accompanies the waterfall from the cliff face down to the rocks of the torrent, emphasizing the height of the relief. The main waterfall spills over a brown rock ledge beneath a tree-covered block. Higher up, a narrow waterfall remains partly hidden in front of the towering cliff. These different levels give the amphitheatre greater depth, while the green vegetation breaks up the mineral surfaces and provides a sense of scale for the walls rising above the water.

The diffuse light brings out the whiteness of the water without overpowering the details of the rock. The grays of the limestone, the greens of the forest, and the damp surfaces create a fresh atmosphere, particularly expressive when snowmelt increases the flow.

The cirque is located at an altitude of approximately 900 meters, near Saint-Pierre-d’Entremont. Its cliffs reach nearly 500 meters and shelter four waterfalls fed by the underground springs of the Guiers Vif, at the foot of the Hauts de Chartreuse nature reserve.

Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
