About this image
Grande Casse and Pointe du Grand Marchet face one another in an open view across the Vanoise massif. Ridges, couloirs and limestone slabs overlap, while the light picks out certain walls and leaves the deeper valleys in shadow. A grassy, inhabited valley opens the view, bordered by green and yellow forests. Small buildings and agricultural equipment give a familiar scale to the alpine meadow. On the right, the great rocky tower takes over before the high snow-covered summit in the background: this progression from pastoral to mineral landscape links the uses of the valley to the scale of the high mountains.
The composition is built on the dialogue between the silhouettes rather than on a single summit. The lines converge toward the centre of the image, differences in height create a natural rhythm and the mineral palette reinforces the coherence of the landscape.
These two reliefs dominate the Pralognan-la-Vanoise area in Savoie. Grande Casse reaches 3,855 metres and is the highest point of the massif; Grand Marchet belongs to the group of cirques and passes that shape the slopes near the village.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
