About this image
La Meije and the neighbouring reliefs are reflected in the calm waters of Lac Lérié on the Plateau d’Emparis. The lake’s mirror extends the glaciers, ridges and snowfields of the massif, while the grassy and mineral shores naturally frame the composition. Le Râteau accompanies La Meije in this face-to-face encounter with the waters of Lérié. Beneath the pale grey sky, the sharp peak and sheets of glacier are reflected almost in their entirety. Golden grasses and rocks along the shore introduce a closer texture, guiding the eye from the edge of the lake to the great reflected walls.
The strength of the image lies in the symmetry of the reflection, slightly broken by irregularities along the shore and variations in light. The blues of the sky and water echo the greys of the rock and the warmer tones of the alpine pastures, creating a quiet and balanced atmosphere.
The Plateau d’Emparis extends above La Grave and the Romanche valley at more than 2,000 metres above sea level. Facing it, La Meije rises to almost 4,000 metres in the Écrins massif. This position offers one of the clearest perspectives of its north face and glaciers.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
