In the evening light, the Schreckhorn and the peaks of the Bernese Oberland are reflected in the calm waters of Lake Bachalp. The still illuminated peaks take on golden hues, while the shores and the sky gradually turn to deeper blues. The lake becomes a true high mountain mirror. Bachalpsee is located at an altitude of approximately 2,265 meters, above Grindelwald and near First. From its shores, the view opens up to the Schreckhorn, the Wetterhorn, the Finsteraarhorn, and the great glacial reliefs of the Bernese Alps.
