Photo print of Lac de Guéry in the heart of the Monts Dore

Lac de Guéry stretches between meadows, pastures, and volcanic peaks of the Dore Mountains. The calm water occupies the center of the landscape, while the rounded slopes and grassy areas create a sense of openness very different from more enclosed alpine valleys. A dense forest stretches above the blue lake before two rounded grassy hills. Beneath the hazy sky, these three surfaces retain soft but distinct boundaries: water at the foot of the landscape, dark tree cover on the slopes, then the more open forms of the volcanic terrain. This simple succession gives the view its pastoral depth.

The photograph highlights the gentle forms of the terrain rather than a single summit. The lines of the shore, the greens of the pastures, and the nuances of the water compose a pastoral landscape where human presence remains discreet and perfectly integrated.

Located between Orcival and Le Mont-Dore, in the Puy-de-Dôme, the lake is approximately 1,244 meters above sea level. It is generally presented as the highest lake in Auvergne, and its history combines glacial modeling, ancient volcanism, and hydraulic development.

This photo print of Lac de Guéry in the heart of the Dore Mountains is printed to order on matte Dibond aluminium. The finish preserves the softness of the colors and the natural depth of this Massif central landscape.
