About this image
Seen obliquely from above, Lac Pavin forms a turquoise disc surrounded by dense forest. Its deep water, sometimes marked with emerald hues, contrasts with the ring of vegetation bordering the crater and gives the photograph an immediately graphic composition. A road and a building appear near the forest ring. Meadows and hills extend the scene beyond the lake to the horizon. These elements give a sense of scale to the disc of water, which takes on an elliptical shape from this oblique angle: the view shows both the basin and its place in the surrounding landscape.
The hills and meadows surrounding the lake place the crater within its landscape. The trees partially mask the internal slopes of the crater, the color variations reveal the depth of the water, and the almost circular outline becomes the main guiding thread of the image.
The lake is located near Besse-et-Saint-Anastaise, in the Puy-de-Dôme department, within the Dore mountains. Situated in a volcanic maar at an altitude of approximately 1,197 meters, it measures several hundred meters in diameter and is over 90 meters deep.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
