About this image
The Vanoise refuge, formerly Félix-Faure, sits at the foot of Grande Casse in a landscape of slabs, alpine meadows and glacial relief. The building provides a very clear human landmark against the mass of the summit. Ochre alpine grassland and grey moraine occupy the intermediate ground between the two buildings and the crevassed glacier of the cirque. Mist wraps part of the summits and leaves the buildings easier to read. The eye therefore moves from the regular geometry of the refuges to the fragmented surfaces of the ice, in a succession where each material retains its own pattern.
The photograph highlights the relationship between mountain heritage and high altitude. The horizontal lines of the refuge balance the more vertical slopes of the summit, while the light successively reveals stone, low vegetation and snow-covered areas.
The refuge stands at Col de la Vanoise, at 2,518 metres above sea level, above Pralognan. Beside it remains the former Félix-Faure refuge, while Grande Casse, 3,855 metres high, dominates the entire area.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
