About this image
Mont Pelvoux and its glaciers catch the last light of day in a wide-open panorama of the Écrins massif. Golden light highlights the ridges, glacial slopes and valleys, while the areas already overtaken by shadow strengthen the relief of the high mountains. Heavy grey clouds fill the sky, but a warm opening appears on the horizon. Snow-filled couloirs remain visible between the steep rocks; their brightness echoes this break in the clouds. The contrast between the cloud ceiling and the illuminated ridges gives the sunset a more concentrated presence within a landscape whose mass remains dark.
The framing gives each layer of the landscape room to breathe: dark rock, snow, ice and warm sky follow one another without visual overload. The orange hues of sunset mingle with the bluish greys of the glaciers, giving the image a calm depth and a strongly mineral presence.
Pelvoux rises to 3,946 metres above Vallouise-Pelvoux in the Hautes-Alpes. Its complex silhouette, long considered the highest in the massif before the first precise measurements of the Barre des Écrins, dominates the Ailefroide and Pré de Madame Carle valleys.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
