At the Lacs des Chéserys, the Mont Blanc massif is reflected in the almost still water. The rocks on the shore, the low vegetation, and the seasonal hues frame the reflection without obstructing the view, allowing the glacial peaks to occupy the entire horizon. This string of small lakes is located in the Aiguilles Rouges massif, above Chamonix and below Lac Blanc. Their position facing the Mont Blanc massif offers an unobstructed perspective of the needles, glaciers, and the main features of the valley. The strength of the photograph comes from its natural symmetry, slightly broken by the clouds and the irregularities of the foreground. The blues of the sky and water echo the warmer tones of the rocks, while the low vantage point draws the eye closer to the lake's surface.
