About this image
The Aiguilles Crochues stand out against the Mont-Blanc massif in a black-and-white interpretation of sunset. Colour disappears, yet the low-angle light remains perceptible in the whites of the snow, the deep shadows of the couloirs and the lines of the ridges. Very bright backlight separates a succession of snow-covered ridges in front of the great glacial dome. Their pale edges create rhythm in the foreground before the snow spreads across broader volumes. This black-and-white photograph conveys the change of scale between the nearby ridges and the distant massif, with light maintaining the link between them.
The composition brings together two materials: dark, jagged rock in the foreground and the brighter volumes of the snow-covered summits. Monochrome heightens this opposition and emphasizes the textures without erasing the softness of twilight.
Above Chamonix, the Aiguilles Crochues rise to 2,840 metres in the Aiguilles Rouges massif. Their position provides a remarkable face-to-face view of the glacial high mountains on the opposite side of the valley.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
