About this image
The Grand Combin dominates a landscape of glaciers, seracs and high ridges in the Alpes valaisannes. Curves of ice cross the foreground before the eye rises toward snow-covered slopes and rocky masses forming this vast high-mountain ensemble. Black rocks emphasize the different glacial levels of the dome. Between these dark bases, breaks of seracs and crevasses give the ice a fragmented pattern, more complex than the summit’s apparent rounded shape. The closer planes make it possible to follow this alternation across the slopes, where the whites of the snow meet the bluish volumes of the glacier.
The photograph is based on the variety of materials: snow-smoothed surfaces, bluish fractures, dark rocks and more distant relief. These elements create several levels of depth without reducing the image to a single face of the summit.
The highest point of the massif reaches 4,314 metres south of Val de Bagnes. Grand Combin belongs to a border area between Switzerland and Italy, marked by large glaciers and several summits exceeding 4,000 metres.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
