About this image
Lac du Peyron stretches in front of Roche de Bernaude and the mineral ridges of the Cerces-Thabor massif. Slightly textured water fills the foreground before scree and high-altitude slopes guide the eye toward the summit closing the composition. A hiker stands on the left near the grassy and stony shore. Variations in the colour of the water follow the irregular banks in front of the broad wall behind. This small human landmark gives scale to the lake and scree: the composition is read through a succession of materials, from the lightly textured surface to the rocky masses.
The lake surface gives the image great stability, while shoreline irregularities and rocky blocks prevent an overly perfect composition. Blues, greys and high-altitude greens reinforce the calm, isolated atmosphere of the place.
The lake lies at more than 2,400 metres above sea level in the Hautes-Alpes, near the crossings linking the Galibier, Clarée valley and Thabor massif. Roche de Bernaude dominates this border area between French and Italian relief.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
