About this image
Lac des Neuf Couleurs (Lake of Nine Colors) occupies a mineral basin at the foot of the high peaks of the Chambeyron massif. Depending on the light, its water changes from deep blue to emerald green, while scree, snowfields, and dark ridges close off the cirque. Part of the blue lake remains frozen. Patches of snow border the water and continue into the gullies of the rocky cirque. This arrangement breaks the shores into white and dark lines, giving the basin a precise texture despite the sparse vegetation and the vast mineral slopes surrounding it.
The photograph captures the austere and isolated character of the site. Vegetation is almost absent, allowing the variations of stone, snow, and water to take center stage. The changing hues of the lake provide the only softness to this high-mountain composition.
Located at an altitude of 2,841 meters above Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye, this lake belongs to the high Ubaye region. The Aiguille de Chambeyron, the highest point in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence at 3,412 meters, dominates the area along with the Tête de la Fréma and several peaks exceeding 3,000 meters.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
