Viewed from the heights of Chamrousse, the Lacs Robert form four blue shapes at the bottom of a vast rocky cirque. The irregular shores, alpine meadows, and dark boulders compose a very open landscape, dominated by the lines of Petit Van, Grand Van, and Grand Sorbier. Located at an altitude of 1,998 meters, these lakes cover approximately twenty-eight hectares in the Belledonne massif, in Isère. Their natural basin is above Chamrousse, between the Recoin and Croix de Chamrousse sectors. The elevated viewpoint allows one to follow the successive contours of the bodies of water and understand the organization of the cirque. The blue of the lakes contrasts with the grays of the granite and the lighter shades of the vegetation, while the depth of the panorama preserves the site's raw character. This view is offered as a photo print of the Lacs Robert in the Belledonne massif.
