About this image

From the heights of Chamrousse, the Lacs Robert unfold as four blue shapes in a vast rocky cirque. Their successive outlines create a landscape of water as much as stone: irregular shores, pale alpine grasslands and dark boulders share the bottom of the basin. Paths and small buildings give scale to this very open space beneath the clouds accompanying the mountains.

The elevated viewpoint reveals the organisation of the cirque without flattening its volumes. From one lake to another, blue contrasts with the greys of the granite and the shades of the vegetation. The alternation of smooth surfaces and mineral textures conveys the depth of the panorama while preserving the site’s raw character.

In the Belledonne massif, in Isère, the lakes cover around twenty-eight hectares at an altitude of 1,998 metres. Their natural basin lies above Chamrousse, between the Recoin and Croix de Chamrousse areas. The lines of Petit Van, Grand Van and Grand Sorbier dominate the group: these landmarks connect the lakes to the heights that give the landscape its shape.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?

Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
