At dawn, a sea of clouds covers the valleys while Grande Casse and Montagne de la Seigne emerge in the first light. The peaks remain clear above the white layer, giving the landscape an almost ethereal depth. Grande Casse is the main landmark of the Vanoise massif. Around it, the ridges and reliefs of Savoy appear in successive planes, partially isolated by the cloud inversion that obscures the lowest areas. The low-angle light gradually reveals the ridges and volumes without dissipating the gentle morning atmosphere. The warm tones of the peaks respond to the blues and greys of the clouds, while the succession of ridge lines leads the eye to the horizon. This photograph becomes a photo print of Grande Casse and Montagne de la Seigne above a sea of clouds, printed on demand on matte Dibond aluminium.
