The Mont-Blanc massif stretches across the full width of this panorama as the last colours of the day reach the summits. Ridges, couloirs and glacial areas follow one another in warm light, while the lower relief gradually falls into shadow. A heavily fractured glacier descends toward the dark foreground beneath aiguilles lit in gold. Pink clouds remain caught on the ridges and interrupt the continuity of the range in places.
