About this image
In black and white, the Croix du Nivolet appears as a bright vertical form in front of the successive reliefs of the Chartreuse. The monochrome treatment simplifies the palette and focuses attention on the silhouette of the monument, the lines of the ridges and the depth of the landscape. An almost uniform white layer fills the hollows of the landscape. The ridges emerge from it like islands, then gradually fade into the distance. On the left, the cliff and wooded slope provide a dark anchor beneath the cross; this base gives greater relief to the mountains, which seem to float above the clouds.
The mid-tones play an essential role here: the softer greys maintain continuity between the different massifs, while the denser shadows give depth to the foreground. The composition remains restrained without losing the details of the landscape.
The cross overlooks Chambéry from the Bauges massif, in the Savoie Grand Revard area. It is accessible from La Féclaz and several ridge routes that open up extensive views towards Lac du Bourget, the Chartreuse and the Alps.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
