From Roche Parstire, Lac de Roselend unfolds its curves amidst the Beaufortain alpine pastures, with the Mont-Blanc massif on the horizon. Flowers dot the alpine pastures in the foreground, while the snowy massif appears farther away on the left. These small plant details and the dam provide two references of scale before the distant summits, in a view where every level of the Beaufortain retains a clear presence.

The photograph combines several clearly separated planes: vegetation in the foreground, the lake in the center, then mountains gradually fading into the atmosphere. The blues of the water and sky echo the greens of the alpine pastures, giving the image a natural depth without artificial contrast.
