About this image
The red Montenvers train crosses a snowy landscape facing the Grandes Jorasses. The bright color of the carriages contrasts with the whites and grays of the mountain, while the tracks guide the eye towards the large walls that close the background. The station and its structures occupy the right side of the scene beside the red train. Beyond them, a vast snow-covered glacial valley opens towards the rocky spires. The photograph thus retains the details of the railway arrival point in the foreground before allowing the view to unfold into the depth of the basin and its high walls.
The photograph brings together two dimensions of the alpine landscape: railway heritage and high mountains. The train provides a human and colorful landmark in the snowy immensity, while the succession of tracks, slopes, and peaks gives a very legible depth to the scene.
From Chamonix, the cogwheel train reaches the Montenvers site, located at an altitude of 1,913 meters, in about twenty minutes. Inaugurated in 1910, this historic line leads to the Mer de Glace viewpoint, with views of Les Drus and the Grandes Jorasses.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
