About this image
In black and white, the Grand Combin appears as an ensemble of ridges, glacial slopes and sharply cut walls. The Corbassière glacier occupies the lower planes, while the summit lines stand out across a broad range of greys. The three aligned glacial summits on the left remain readable within this panorama, which opens wider to the right. The broader field leaves more space around the basin and the surrounding relief. In black and white, differences in brightness connect the summits to the lower planes: dark walls cut through the whites of the glacier and keep the volumes distinct.
The monochrome treatment does not remove the nuances of the landscape; on the contrary, it reinforces the reading of seracs, moraines and rocky strata. The whites of the snow, the greys of the ice and the blacks of the hollows give the scene an almost sculptural depth.
The massif dominates Val de Bagnes in the Alpes valaisannes and reaches 4,314 metres at Combin de Grafeneire. It brings together several summits above 4,000 metres over an important north-facing glacial system.

What should I do if my print arrives damaged or has a defect?
If the print has a printing defect, breakage or transport damage, whether the packaging is damaged or appears intact, contact AluArtMountains as soon as possible. Send your order number, a full photograph of the print and detailed photos of the defect. If the packaging is marked or damaged, also include photos of the inner and outer packaging and the shipping label. Once the claim is approved, a compliant replacement print will be produced at no extra cost, without limiting your statutory rights.
